The name Hust is familiar to alot of Petal baseball fans. Selected by Oakland Athletics in 2nd Round (56th overall) of 1990 AA amateur entry draft out of Petal, Gary Hust is uncle to nephew, Bo Hust. Bo's been the starting catcher for Petal for past two seasons at Petal. Just like Gary, Bo's on his way in becoming a star.

Hust ended the 2007 season batting a .376 with a .500 on base percentage, had 109 at bats with 41 hits of 29 singles, 10 doubles and two homeruns. Hust had 23 RBI's, was walked 16 times and struck out 12 times. Hust was selected 2007 Division 5 class 4A 1st Team. Bo did not allow any fielding errors this year but only three throwing errors. Hust's also ended with the best fielding percentage on the team.

This summer, Bo Hust looks tryout for the 2007 State Games of Mississippi. Hust has a chance to go to Oklahoma to play in the Sunbelt Classic with the Mississippi Prospects, headed up by Coach Hester of New Hope.

As a sophomore, Hust started every game, batted a .410 with a .615 on base percentage and one homerun, had 28 walks, 10 doubles, 41 hits.

  • Hust played for the Mississippi Durt Bag team(a wooden bat league)
  • Played in the 2006 State Games Of Mississippi district which ended 3rd out of eight teams teams
  • Camped at William Carey College
